Re: Open vs. Closed Source

If you voted anything but "Encourage open-source", you can expect to wake up in a very unhappy place tomorrow morning. That's what I did, but still I don't see exactly what you mean (except for the extremes). Care to elaborate? Mandating open/closed is just insane. Encouraging closed send...

Re: Could age restrictions for buying alchohol be lowered?.

I'm not sure about the economics of it, but the drinking age should certainly be 18. Both smoking, and gorey sex with 90-year-old men with herpes, are legal at 18, and drinking is safer than either.

OSX and Other Distro (Gentoo). I use OSX a lot more, but I can't sleep at night without Linux installed.

Re: Most evil HTML tag?

I'm voting for <bgsound>. It was about 3/5ths of what was wrong with the internet that took until 2008 to repair. I'm guilty of the occasional <center>, but if the page is permanent enough that I have a CSS file, I'll use CSS for alignments.

awesome, but to the alt text, virus's arnt impossible to make for mac (dunno about linux), they are just VERY uncommon, since the vast majority uses windows... So, if macs win in the future, virus makers will just go after them instead. But macs are much safer in general, and when there is an explo...

Re: Link to current comic?

Is there any link to the newest comic? Something like "http://www.xkcd.com/newest.png"? I'm working on a page to use for my homepage, and I want to have the newest one on it, but it'd be pointless if I had to manually reset it. Anyone know of this? Can you not just push the rss feed on to...

Re: Link to current comic?

Don't hotlink to the comic, that's being a dick. Just make a script to imgur the frontpage comic now and then. ("if previous http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/*.png is not found on the page then search for a new png, host it, update link"). What's wrong with direct linking? I'm the only one who...

Remembering comic...

There was a comic that I'm 95% sure was xkcd, but I can't remember the title or find it in a search. It was what the older version of sites would look like (I think it had twitter and youporn, but I can't remember others). It progressed back in time, showing many sites with their "older version...
