It, like an IQ test, has a place despite its flaws. It's a useful tool but should not be taken too literally, especially for those who did not score quite as strongly.

The Making of the Atomic Bomb.
Another cool thing about the manmelter is its projectile speed. The flare speed is 150% of the normal flare gun, making it considerably easier to hit people. It's easy enough that I actually hit about 75% of the time.
The manmelter pairs very well with the backburner. Having the ability to put out fires for guaranteed crits while saving the excessively expensive compression blasts for more important tasks is amazing.
