That's awesome. They did everything right. Made it look like it would just real enough for folks to get excited, and mess up the story enough to where some of those people would go "Wtf! They're doin' it wrong!"

Re: the most depressing song: help me find it!

That list is filled with stock sad songs, I think. I do agree with the Elliott Smith inclusion. That song is a real downer, but in a good way. Like a quaalude. In fact, I'm fairly certain any Elliott Smith song is the most depressing song ever. His delivery and musical sense is crushing, but in a go...

I didn't really take any of this into account you see, because this is encapsulated within a universe in which robots plug humans into a computer program and let them live out their lives as usual, while using them as a power source. It's not realistic. I don't really think it's supposed to be. I t...

I didn't find it depressing so much as stupid. So, Sustained nuclear bombardment from the world's major powers failed to destroy a single metropolitan area, then enough of said city-state's industry survived to allow it to win a war against the entire rest of the not-reduced-to-radioactive-...

Re: the most depressing song: help me find it!

Gloomy Sunday is very sad and harsh, but it is not near as emotionally affecting as the prior post's suggestion. Barber's use of crescendo and layers has more effect on the emotions than a baritone hollering about his sadness, sad as that sadness may be. This is merely my opinion, but I think Barber...

I find Schickele to be a bit boring, and while Tom Leher is definitely not laugh-out-loud funny, he's exceptionally clever. His music was so-so, but at least drew you into what Leher was singing.

Leher wins by much more than a nose. Like a humerus or something.
