Re: My Number Is Not Your Number!

π

It is an unsolved problem as to whether or not π−e is rational. However, if π=e, then π−e would equal 0, which makes said unsolved problem trivial. Contradiction. Therefore, π ≠ e.

Re: Mayday PAC against SuperPACs

Limiting spending is essentially limiting the amount of message propagation that occurs. It also helps the truly best candidates to be the ones who get elected. If somebody has a legitimately good idea, people will want to spread his/her campaign. Likewise, if someone is a bumbling idiot, people wi...

It's quite amazing how this raised over $1,000,000 in a single day.

I can't wait to see how this goes and how (or if) other politicians will try to resist.

Using dark magic as such to bring a topic back to its prior glory is not a rarity on forums such as this.

Although I should warn you, it is known for causing such a community to form an angry mob. I would display caution. Stay low so you don't attract too much bad publicity.

Different Numbers of Coins, Different Totals

A while back I noticed something interesting about US coins and their denominations. Suppose I have some pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters in my pocket such that I have a different number of each denomination, at least 1 of each but no more than 4 of each. (For example, I could have 1 nickel, 2 ...

I think one assumption that people are making is that on the Feebas tiles P(Magikarp) = P(Barboach). However, I don't think you can assume this, since I don't see any indication of that here . In other words, I don't think that Bayesian inference will get you far since P(Magikarp|not Feebas) is the ...

I don't really use a mnemonic for resistor color codes. They don't really need one, since I find it easy to remember on its own:

Although once you've been around resistors long enough, you know how to do this in your sleep.
