Base Conversion without Base 10

In the course of giving myself busywork, I have stumbled on something that is now driving me mad. I would like to convert between two arbitrary bases without using base 10 as an intermediary. The algorithm for doing so with base 10 is pretty simple, you just use the algorithm for converting from Bas...

I like the idea behind this one, but I think the last panel flubbed. It seemed a bit too blunt. Just taking out the word "toboggan" and making it "the Calvin and Hobbes Model" would've improved it. Or "The Watterson model".

I simply can't believe that a matter of Minority rights is under the power of a Majority vote.

Even if Prop 8 doesn't pass, Florida's Prop 2 certainly did, as did the anti-adoption prop in Arizona.

Why should someone be required to vote if they don't want to, it's just a waste of everyone's time in that case. I'd imagine it'd be really hard to pass something requiring voting anyway. I think it would be genius. Anyone that votes would vote Yes, but anyone that didn't vote would have to go out ...

Watching a(n educational) movie in class, it shows a picture of a woman from the 1880s.
