Re: Trump presidency

you don't recall 2013, then, do you? Fair enough. But the Democrats in this case are trying to force a delay by demanding an Executive branch agency investigate a questionably timed allegation about something which would be damned-near impossible to prove one way or the other so long after the alle...

Re: Trump presidency

I agree those are basically the two options. I think the democrats had a better chance of delaying until Oct 1 by having the hearing Monday and then try to delay from the results of that. Trying to delay in advance by requesting an FBI inquiry is pushing too hard (unless there's some precedent/law ...

Re: Trump presidency

The Democrats are desperately trying to stall until October 1st when the new SCOTUS term begins, and there is no way the Republicans can allow that to happen. I don't believe the Republicans have to allow any further delay of the confirmation vote, but they have a difficult choice to make: 1) Force ...

The investigation of the alleged incident should fall to the local jurisdiction. The only thing that suggests the FBI might want to investigate is the fact that the accused is being considered for a high federal appointment, and the FBI has already done six background checks on him over the years as...

Re: The Darker Side of the News

China’s dictatorship will introduce personal scorecards where citizens will be monitored 24/7 and ranked on behavior. Under the social credit scheme, points are lost and gained based on readings from a sophisticated network of 200 million surveillance cameras — a figure set to triple in 18 months. ...

Re: Delta Green - All Part of the Job (Call of Cthulhu AP)

This was a short session, but we only had two players, so we got a fair bit done. Next week, we should have three, maybe four. Every time we start a new Operation, I wonder just how badly things will get away from them, and when it might happen. The way I see it, there are several possible pitfalls,...

Hey! I've been running a tabletop RPG for a little over a year and writing up the game sessions in a story format. It's modern Call of Cthulhu with an illegal government cell-style conspiracy of agents from various government agencies and military branches. Check out my thread here in the Gaming se...

Re: Delta Green - All Part of the Job (Call of Cthulhu AP)

Gotta love scheduling difficulties before the first game with new players. We managed to put a session together Sunday with two of the new players; one character started as Delta Green, and the other did not. Dempsey's player was on a fishing vacation, but he should be back next session.

Re: Fleeting Thoughts: Movie and TV Shows

I was thinking about Leslie Nielsen and how I still make references to Police Squad!, The Naked Gun, and Airplane!, and that made me curious. I checked his IMDB. It looks like he was in 17 movies/television shows whose titles ended in punctuation: ⋅ Ransom! ⋅ Climax! ⋅ ...

Yeah. That place looks far to clean to be legit. It's interesting, too, how that place is supposedly based in Denver, and the very first Opera in this AP ended with a quick stop at the Denver green box. That, and the end of Session 4 of Fuel of the Gods featured a second green box in the Denver area...
