Mixotrophic Mammals

Whilst in Biology lecture last week we touched momentarily on mixotrophic creatures; which got me wondering, are there any studies on creating a mixotrophic mammal(more specifically a mixotrophic humanoid/human).

Or does anyone have an ideas on the subject?

Its not just the machines, its the padded benches and everything else, I shudder to think how often my college gym cleans their free weights.
