Why sexist? I assume the "smaller fry" refers to even younger boys, like toddlers or infants. If you mean sexist because girls/women are never mentioned, then sure, sexist. edit: mean, not just "man". hah, apropos typo. Oh, I meant it's sexist if the "smaller fry" refe...

I was kind of hoping he would address the possibility of microbes surviving inside material ejected from impact events. Some of that material could eventually have been ejected from the solar system altogether. If it's possible that microbes can survive for "thousands or even millions of years...

Distant Death

A little masterpiece I think.

Is the "Planetary Protection Officer" also accountable for moons, planetoids etc.? Or does she have "Minor Celestial Body Protection Officer" reporting to her?

Iceland Earthquake

According to 'the news', there's been a 4.5 earthquake in Iceland on the 18th of August.

Why doesn't it show up on any of the earthquake tracker tools I've been able to find? Is this just some sensasionalist reporting?

I'm none of those. My opinion is: - Don't put anything online at all if you don't want others to see it. In other words, be careful. - Do not support companies that have as core business model to gather people's personal data. Do not use Facebook, etc. If you can't live without social media, there'...

No, it isn't. Mercator isn't area-true.
