Re: 1732: "Earth Temperature Timeline"

You know that evolution is driven primarily by things dying, right? ... So if you think evolution is going to alleviate concerns about human survival of climate change, you're basically saying it's OK that most current humans die, because the few who might survive might eventually repopulate the wo...

Re: 1732: "Earth Temperature Timeline"

No one who's worried about climate change has that position on the basis that Earth's temperature has never changed before in the past 4.5 billion years. We're worried on the basis that it hasn't changed this much in human history, and when it has changed significantly the effects have been pretty ...

Am I the only one who thought this was going to be about scheduling the occurrence of conflicts? Probably something the BHG would do.

...In Asia, Bahrain might be too small to make out at resolution, but it appears that Qatar and Kuwait have been by absorbed (by Saudi Arabia, or possibly Iraq for the latter.) Only one of the Transcaucuses is shown, Georgia - I don't even see a boundary between Iran and Russia, so it may be that R...

Re: 1286: "Encryptic"

"Weather vane sword" must be a Redwall reference. "Sword of Martin" perhaps? Sounds likely to me. As someone who was once a card-holding member of the official fan club, it's embarrassing that I didn't think of that. I'm just not used to seeing Redwall references online. Thank y...

@lucrezaborgia: I agree, your sister's work is very good. I've seen the skunk picture before (uncredited!) and it is adorable . Easily the cutest skunk pic I've ever seen. @EvilDuckie: That B+W shot is intense! Very strong. And the mud sure does look bad... @podbaydoor: I really like that picture. W...

Re: 1013: "Wake Up Sheeple"

"You will be led to judgement [sic] like lambs to the slaughter." I believe it's quoting one of the Old Testament prophets. Well, maybe. But does one really have to be versed in the Torah / Old Testament to know that phrase or what it means? No, no, I wouldn't say that at all! I was just ...

I did not know a thing about kerning before reading the comic and this thread. Now I shall suffer.

I got a 91/100 on the game, which probably has something to do with the amateur graphic design I fiddle around with. I would have done a bit better if not for Toronto.

Re: 1013: "Wake Up Sheeple"

This is the third Judeo-Christian reference he's made in 3 comics. Is this on the required reading list to understand the humor? :? Are you referring to the "Heaven forgive us" or the "Oh God Oh God"? That would be the alt text, actually. "You will be led to judgement [sic]...
