Re: "Freemanic Paracusia" Discussion

Sure, your life being narrated by Morgan Freeman would be cool, but it comes in second to narration by the master:

James Earl Jones.

Re: "Regrets" Discussion

Having lost a lover (but managed to keep her as my best friend) I've gotta say that this one... Is interesting. It didn't last long, but there's no way I can say that I regret kissing her. Ever. She's so beautiful in every way. Not quite in my head, but still rather related to where I am right now. ...

Re: "The Sea" Discussion

If I had been drinking milk, it would currently be making a mess of my keyboard.

And the sea and night sky/horizon dealio is beautiful.

Re: The Decisions That Lead To The Fall Of Man (a novel)

I am, quite frankly, loving this novel, it's bookmarked, and I'm excited for the next installment.

I've turned on reply notification.

Re: Best sentence ever

The local newspaper has a "Photos from around the world" section, and once there was a picture from Iraq with a caption describing some confrontation that had happened between the Iraqi forces and insurgents. The caption finished with the sentence:

"At least people were killed."

Re: Marijuana

Well, I'm basing my opinion off of Canadian law, because I am Canadian, and here the police don't care about possession if it's small enough that you couldn't be selling and distributing. They just take it and tell you to go home.

Re: eating meat

I like steak, and I like bacon. I am not a vegetarian. For those that are, the food chain trumps your moral objections. If you don't believe me, retake grade two science.

Re: Marijuana

I happen to think that there are much, much more important issues in the world than legalizing pot. Honestly, if these people who felt they were empowered to be part of some new movement towards legalization put this energy elsewhere, they could accomplish something useful. In that article it was ev...

Re: Stupid School Policies

My college has a "Fragrance Free" policy, whereby no one is supposed to wear perfume, aftershave, or cologne because of peoples' allergies. Makes sense, until you ask the girl in my class for whom the scented bathroom soap is strong enough to trigger her allergies.

Re: "Ouch" moments in school

I got a 27% on my second Calculus midterm this year (yes, we had two). It was easy stuff to, areas and volumes of graphs (revolved about axis for volume), centroids and moments of inertia.

In my defense, it was the day before I broke up with my girlfriend.

Re: What's wrong with highschool dances?

Q: What's wrong with highschool dances? A: They are populated with highschool students. Oh perfection. My high school didn't bother with a prom, we just go straight to parties after grad. All of our dances sucked, same stupid music and the same group of people dancing with a bunch of others chillin...

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

My Applied Mechanics: Statics instructor was demonstrating deflection one day. He accidentally snapped the ruler, stating: "There goes my budget for the year. Cliff and Lorne get fancy computer stuff, but I barely get enough for a ruler." Which was hilarious because for the entire semester...
