Re: 1534: "Beer"

Many centuries ago, beer and wine were probably the safest liquids you could drink as they were properly "treated" by the alcohol during manufacturing.

You didn't dare drink from the river as it was also being used as a sewer.

The prediction about the Canadian people definitely came true! Just try and find a country in the world that really and truly hates us! We're one of the few nations whose citizens can safely travel the world with their nation's flag sewn on their backpack! http://entangled.com/img/luggage....

What if you used a Blendtec blender? Apparently, you can heat liquids to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. http://www.blendtec.com/support/faq (look for "hot soup")

Re: What-if 0067: "Expanding Earth"

Just noticed the part where, after 5 years, your "weight" would increase from 70 to 88 "kg". For shame, Randall! Using "weight" instead of "mass", and selecting a unit of measure that doesn't change even when gravity does change! If you had chosen "pounds...

I'm so glad I'm only a Canadian observer to this massive cluster-fornication. Unfortunately, you're not just an observer. Said shitfuckstupidity is unlikely to do anything good to our economy. Isn't it about time to start reporting on the US like is done for third-world republics? http://www.slate....

Re: 1227: "The Pace of Modern Life"

I'm well over 35, and I find Twitter to be a wonderful invention, and the most significant written word communications medium since the invention of the telegraph. Its 140 character limit forces people to get to the point, and not ramble on forever. The best Tweeters seem to be those who can nearly ...

Re: What-If 0045: "ISS Music Video"

Apparently, commander Hadfield spent a couple of hours filming the various shots in the ISS, during his free time, with a guitar that was already there, and using unused bandwidth to upload the footage to the editing team.

Actual cost from Hadfield's side: $0.00 CAD ($0.00 USD).

Also, "It's A Trap!" means something else entirely in some of the more shady parts of the Internet. ;)

That's the same format I've been using in my SQL date columns for over 20 years. Much easier to read and sort out in a report. All the other formats just confuse the heck out of me. Can't stand them at all.

As mentioned before, the two individuals are lined up with the wrong conveyor.

Also, the egress arrow at both ends should be rotated to throw the individual on the opposing belt. Infinite High Fives!

Re: Curiousity touchdown tonight in around 5 hours.

The touchdown was extremely smooth, about two feet per second, with a lateral drift of a couple of inches only.

And that's hanging twenty feet from a rocket propelled crane with 140 kg of fuel still left in it!

What a crazy-ass stunt that was! And IT ALL WORKED!!!
