Re: Thor

I'm not really sure that was even the lesson he needed though. Don't get me wrong, it takes massive thunder balls for Thor to basically sacrifice himself to the destroyer. But wasn't the lesson he needed to learn more along the lines of don't be a brash, hot-tempered fool? Although he d...

was that supposed to be hawkeye at the hammer-site? I know black widow was in iron man 2 so I guess this was hawkeye's cameo. Yes, yes it was. I geeked for that. First viewing with parents = only person in the cinema who seemed to notice, glares from parents as I bounced up and down in my seat ...

Re: Reactions to your Major

Religious studies does have a lot of future clergymen, but it also has a lot of me-type people - which is "This is fun! Oh wait, why do people expect me to join the church now?" Theology interests me, but it strikes me as the sort of field where, like with philosophy, you're not just read...

Re: Reactions to your Major

@KateTheGreat - Grrrrrr :P Oh, I love my brother and it's really cool that he's studying what he finds interesting instead of business or something like that. Plus he's going for a double major with history, AND getting his masters at the same time as his bachelors. Impressive! I just find it kind ...

Re: Doctor Whom

I have been excited for this episode ever since I heard Neil Gaiman had written one! Me and one of the friends I'd been watching it with have been saying it'll be the TARDIS since we heard the title, so it was nice to get a theory correct for a change... On to the episode! Idris was perfect ...

SPACE PIRATES! That is all. No, seriously though, I really, really hope they find an excuse to bring them back at some point. I don't know how, but I really want them to! On the preview-trailer bit: The Ood? Differently coloured this time? And the voice in the TARDIS? Well now, this IS going to...

Re: Reactions to your Major

I think asking someone "What do you want to do/can you do?" whose major doesn't lead directly to a particular job i.e. engineer or pre-anything, is a fair question, just because you researched the job/career opportunities for you major and you know what you want to do doesn't mean everyon...

...or most commonly: "What's the point in that/what are you going to do?" To which my usual response is: "It's a degree from Oxford. Whatever I like." Well, actuallly, it seems to me that even if it were a degree from God, you couldn't do whatever you like. With just that, you w...

Though I know it won't be, I've decided I want the child to be the Nightmare Child because I want to know what that is, dammit. More seriously though, I will be so, so disappointed if Moffat breaks up Rory and Amy. They are one of my favourite couples, and I liked having a married couple on...

I still can't decide as to whether I *want* to find out who River is or not, because I don't want to be disappointed by it if it's not as awesome as we all think. Then again, this is Moffat, so it probably is that awesome. I don't think she's his wife though - the more I think/r...

Spoilers for the Season 32/6 trailer I have a feeling that all the clips in the dark house(?) and Amy with the scratch marks are going to be from Neil Gaiman's pants-wettingly terrifying episode. I was waiting for someone to mention this. And ohmygosh I have been excited for the Neil Ga...

Ideally it would be based on some feature of your apartment that reminds you of a place from history or lit, or a concept from science. Narnia is named as such because it has an excellent built in cupboard beneath the stairs (I personally would have seen this and gone with Privet Drive, but that co...
