Re: 1190: "Time"

Chapter 61 It was the Dawn of Time, and the Stations of the Ong were being celebrated in the Great Cathedral. First Cleric wasn't much into services, but he didn't like to miss the Stations, especially because there was usually a big party afterwards. Sometimes these parties got a little out of han...

Re: Aleph-null bottles of beer on the wall...

Can we change Aleph-null to Omega so we can actually progress? No, because ω is an ordinal and ℵ 0 is a cardinal. That is, ℵ 0 indicates how many bottles there are, and ω indicates where (in the infinite line of bottles) this particular bottle lies. You could take down the (ω-n)th bottle of beer, b...

Probably not. There are various vinagrette dressing in the fridge, but I don't know which (if any) are "officially" Italian dressing. A magnetron definitely counts as a vacuum tube. And yeah, about the lightbulb, right, it's not really a vacuum tube (nor does it use the properties of a vac...

16 gauge wire has more resistance than 12 gauge wire, and 100 feet has more resistance than 50 feet. Resistance lowers the current draw (and wastes energy by causing unuseful heat). If you are on the edge of tripping a breaker, that resistance could be keeping you under the tripping current. However...

A flat earth and a nearby sun will also cause varying shadow lengths. Over longer distances the discrepancy (between it and spherical/far) becomes evident, but then you run into the sunset thing anyway. (I don't know why flat-earthers don't see sunset as a problem for their model.)
