Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - All Things Women. Period.

Ooh, thanks all! Non-slidyness does seem like a better option than toe-stuffing. And I'll probably look at men's boots eventually, though in general I like the aesthetic of women's boots more. @lucreza: All the best for your wedding! And my mom was over 30 when she had both me and my older sister. I...

Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - All Things Women. Period.

Woman thread! I am in need of advice. I have weirdly shaped feet (the knuckle sticks out at like a 10-20deg angle), so finding shoes that fit comfortably is near-impossible, and I have no idea what my actual shoe size is (somewhere around 8w though, in US women's). I recently got a pair of boots (ne...

Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - All Things Women. Period.

Depends a bit what's in your area, but for $40 I would try thrift stores or discount places like Kohls, Ross, TJMaxx, Marshalls, etc. I got a nice coat at Square One (which I don't think is as common) for like $60 and that was a pretty good deal--my instinct says $60-80 would be pretty easy to find;...

Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - #sharkweek on irc.foonetic.ne

I think they probably try to start with the lower doses so you don't get way more hormones than you need? If it's not working, though, I don't imagine your doctor would have much issue with switching you to a higher dosage.
Out of curiosity, which pill is it?

I've also heard that calcium will help prevent muscle cramps in general and also help with menstrual cramps, since calcium is necessary to keep muscles from cramping and the uterus is mostly composed of smooth muscle. Sounds like prostaglandins might be responsible for the more severe cramps though.

Try squatting? Like, squatting waaay low, not just over the toilet. When I had trouble getting mine out initially, I found squatting way way down in the shower (too afraid I'd drop it in the toilet) and bearing down helped. Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - #sharkweek on irc.foonetic.ne

Why don't they make a 45 wide by 40 tall? Probably because the capacity would be pretty low. (Also, considering how far up my LadyCup moves, 40cm might be too short for a lot of people.) I imagine at 45cm your cervix would be inside the cup and displace a good deal of blood. Hence my su...

I have a small Ladycup that is the one I bought thinking it would be best for me. It is too long. The bottom of it sticks out and we aren't even talking about the stem - the bottom of the cup pushes on my ladybits there and is slightly outside. The small Meluna as it is the loop sticks out a bi...

Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - #sharkweek on irc.foonetic.net

Ovulation occurs at day 14-15 (where day 1 is the start of Shark Week) and eggs are viable for less than 24 hours. Sperm however are fertile for 2-4 days. So from days 10-16 if you don't have piv, you'd reduce your chances a lot just with that because you are avoiding the body's natural timing for ...

As far as I know, it's kinda like the pill in that you're not on hormones for a week but you're still covered contraception-wise (but you have to wait a week when you're starting the hormones). Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - #sharkweek on irc.foonetic.net

As the owner of a small Ladycup, be forewarned that the origami fold might not work--the Ladycup has a pretty thick rim compared to the body of the cup, and I found there just wasn't enough room for an origami fold. (Origami fold does work well on the Lunette--whose rim is about the same thickness a...
