Re: Need a New Car

I drive a 2008 Honda Civic (we paid around $22000, brand new) and its fucking awesome. Very sporty, very fast, very gas efficient. Honda (and Toyota, I believe) maintains a high resale value as well, something to keep in mind if you're picking out a new car. I concur, I have a 2007 civic and love i...

Re: Right, this is silly now. WinXP "serious error".

The "serious error" message usually means your computer's been blue-screening, and that usually means failing hardware of some sort. That or a faulty driver, but you said your drivers are all either up-to-date or haven't changed since before the errors started. That's assuming the up-to-d...

Re: Woman not eligible for government job because of race

I think you've confused meritocracy with affirmative action. And I think you're confused as to what affirmative action means. I'm saying it is all about ignoring race/creed/sex, which does leave nothing but a meritocracy behind (Which I believe is a good thing.). US laws are also coming from that s...

Some legitimate or semi-legitimate reasons I could see for this would include: Quotas that x% of employees need to be of certain races, and quota of whites has already been met / surpassed. Job duties involve working with people in an area where whites simply aren't trusted or given recognition. Tr...

Alright, so I'm reluctantly modifying some scripts for an Oracle DB. In fact, I don't trust democracies that go to war without a draft. It leads to lives being thrown away by people who know that they personally could never be at risk, for political ends. With or without a draft, those in power are never risking their own lives. The poorer powerless masses are the o...

Also the draft doesn't take those who don't pass a physical inspection. There's nothing wrong with including women in the draft only to reject most (possibly even all) of them because they (indavidually) couldn't pass the fitness requiernments. However from an equality point of view there's a huge ...

There's a big difference between self defense (i.e. getting yourself out of the situation using force) and mutilation . If he was merely blocking her way out of the bar, the appropriate response might be to push him or disable him somehow, not light him on fire . He wasn't merely blocking her way o...
