Re: 1576: "I Could Care Less"

This is an aside to the debate, but put here where I imagine xtifr will find it; If you don't want descriptivists to criticize you, go out and prescribe things that are true. Subject-verb agreement is a good one. There's hardly any exceptions at all to that. Heck, I can't name one, and tracking down...

Re: 1572: "xkcd Survey"

I think it's quite interesting, from a historic perspective, that many people seem to have read the question about which word you often spell wrongly as asking about which word you often type wrongly. I wonder if answers to that question might be pointers to the age of respondents? Or maybe it's an ...

Why do some birds jump, while others walk?! Hopping is quick for short distances, especially over small obstacles, but larger or ground-dwelling birds walk to save energy. Hopefully a little helpful link; http://www.rspb.org.uk/makeahomeforwildlife/advice/expert/previous/hop_or_run.aspx

You don't just remain "open to the possibility", you remain "open to the possibility of something", as others in this thread have pointed out. When you think, "I'm open to the possibility of X" then you're going to need to describe "X", if it's something unusu...
