Re: Minecraft

This is confusing to me: To get back to the real world, you’ll have to create another portal – or use the one you came through. Make one 10 meters away, and you’ll find yourself 160 meters ahead in the real world when you get back. It sends you back to the real world, but far away from where you st...

My hint for the treasure quests are that they're at a named location on the map. So look at the picture then look at your map and try to think of what it would be called. The fact that it tells you what part of the world it's located in(New Austin, West Elizabeth, or Mexico) makes it easier.

Everything in DF is potentially "fun." :P But yeah, killing nobles is acceptable but unless you have a mega project or something that they're getting in the way of then it kind makes the game boring in the later years of your fortress if you don't have nobles.

When embarking, make sure that you have access to enemy civs(press tab a few times). Since if you don't then there won't be any sieges. You could also try out the orc mod on the bay12 forums if you want even more of a challenge, since they avoid traps and are really tough to kill.

My first fortress starved to death(back when you could only farm on the edge of the river that flooded every year), my second fortress died to permaflood, then my third got slaughtered by chasm creatures(apparently they didn't like me throwing stuff down their chasm).

I'm pretty sure that in adventure mode you're stuck with your companions until they die. Sadly adventure mode is way behind fortress mode in terms of completion so there's a few things like that that aren't implemented yet.

That is a lot of farms, you only need one 5x5 plot of plump helmets and one proficient grower to keep an entire fortress fed. Then a few other farms for different kinds of plants like pig tail and whatnot.

Can you chain more then one animal to the same chain? If you can then that could work. What I would do though, is chain 2 animals next to each other in a room and let them breed, then when they make babies just put the babies in a cage. Either way though, I'm pretty sure animals can breed in cages.

By accident? What, you like to keep your nobles alive? I'll admit, since DF went 3d the nobles are much better at being less of a douche.
