Re: [C++] Global variables in headers.

I believe it also works to do something like this: inline Foo& MyVariable() { static Foo foo = Foo(); return foo; } in this case it won't be initialised on startup but the first time the function runs, but with a C++11 compliant compiler it is thread safe. I have no idea how that interacts with ...

Re: Guild Wars 2

In PvP necros seem fine to me - not easy to play by any means, but there are lots of viable builds. Some minions are quite worthwhile, mainly flesh wurm, bone minions and flesh golem as their active abilities are useful and they're less affected by AI problems. Conditions are actually powerful there...

Uh, turret engis did get a good buff, though high% damage increases don't always help much when the damage is really low to begin with. Buggy in the sense that taking one particular turret trait switches back to the unbuffed version. The kit builds on the other hand varied between losing a bunch of ...

I am so pissed off with this game at the moment. To the best of my knowledge the main reason to choose one is just the players on it and hoping it's good at WvW. So if there's a standard xkcd one I'll probably pick that. You can call me ToD if you like though it's more commonly shortened to toe, in fact I've been called toe quite a lot in real life.

Re: Closed form expression for this for loop?

I'm reading some code and there's this one loop that's really bothering me. for (int t = 0; t < n; t++) i += 1 + ((i + 1) % p == 0) ? p : 0; I think that right parenthesis is misplaced - using gcc 4.1.2 at least, + has higher precedence than ?: so the loop statement is just equivalent to "i +=...
