Re: 1390: "Research Ethics"

What what are we talking about? Mostly the 'what what' word doubling. But also the recent debacle regarding one paper published by facebook, wherein they manipulated random people's news feeds, and noticed that if you see a lot of negative stuff, you tend to post negative stuff, and vice versa. Her...

Re: 1319: "Automation"

First off, even if the automation takes as much (or more) time than the original boring task, it is better for two reasons: 1. It is way more fun to do than the original task, and 2. the mistakes made by humans when doing repetitive boring tasks are removed. ...to be replaced by newer and better mi...

Sandra & Woo crypto challenge

I'm not affiliated with the comic, but thought people on this forum would get a kick out of this.. http://www.sandraandwoo.com/2013/07/29/0500-the-book-of-woo/ The author has made a crypto challenge with a money prize for whoever cracks it. Offhand, it looks like a simple letter substitution crypto,...

Re: 1213: "Combination Vision"

So, spent a few minutes with the paint bucket tool to make this spoiler, and then the forum doesn't let me post it, claiming it's spam..

But yeah, it's 42, with 2,3,5,7,9 "painting" the numbers, with one errant '2' outside the figures.

Re: 1136: "Broken Mirror"

Am I the only one who read the first line as "COPS" instead of "OOPS" ? That changed the dynamic of the comic quite a bit..
