Re: Dealing with hate.

I try rather hard not to hate things, it doesn't always work out. The reasoning behind this though is that I find the destructive nature of the emotion overly wasteful in many situations and therefore should be used very sparingly. I deal with my dislike and rising hatred of something by disassembli...

Re: Today I Learned

The sentiment in itself was what I was expressing agreement with regardless of the quality of the facts she presented and the statements she made. I for one managed to pull together the facts she presented and the reasoning she produced and ended up with a reasonable conclusion. You haven't done any...

Re: Today I Learned

Also: Let's quit the whole "not long term" bullshit, shall we? Starvation is a process that can last many months in an obese person. That is what fat is for, you know, easily mobilizable energy reserves that the body can use when glucose is not available from the diet or the liver stores....

Re: XKCD Tie

I always liked the picture of the guy ready to joust windmills...
http://xkcd.com/556/

it could incorporate that maybe with the guy galloping a across at a windmill that is running away or toward. That was my initial thought when I saw it.

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

No cookie on that one, i'm at Massey in Palmerston North, the new engineering program is pretty interesting here. I was going to go to canta but various other things got in the way and I decided in the end that it won't matter much for undergrad in the end.

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

It's the literal arts part that was being referenced I think. All things are forgiven for those of an inquiring mind :P While I enjoy giving Art majors crap about their degrees, I actually believe the pursuit of knowledge in any field is never a waste of time. Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

May lurk for a while, but probably not, i'm too opinionated. I have just finished my first year of a Mechatronics Engineering degree, I al...
