Primer for Politics?

I'm not a very politically active person. I'm not registered to vote, but honestly, I don't feel like I'm in-the-know enough to vote in most elections. I just read today that a supreme court justice is retiring soon. Is there any 'cheat sheet' to politics/government? Other than reading the news and ...

Re: Could anyone help an idiot figure out linux?

There's a flavor of Ubuntu called Linux Mint that's geared towards newcomers, as it already has things like media codecs installed. It also has a LiveCD and a Wubi installer. I've never used it, but it might be worth a look. +1 on linux mint I use regular ubuntu, but linux mint is probably what you...

maybe they are moving away from nvidia back to ati or something

this doesn't mean a processor switch

not that it really matters to the end-user

And thanks for assuming I waste all my time on the computer. I can't sleep right now and it's almost 1am. I log into random shit because of the insomnia the stress is giving me. (not just this tiny issue...)

One possibility no one's mentioned yet is going homeless 'till you get your first paycheck. Gets rid of the commute problem. May or may not be a good idea depending on how safe an area you live in. Definitely not at all fun, but something to consider. Because showing up to work smelling like a home...

Do you own/know how to ride a bike? If so, are you in physical condition good enough to ride it to work? I know 30 miles is a lot, but from what I've read, it might be your only option. If you don't own a bike, check with your neighbors, maybe they have an old beat up one that they'll give you. Goo...

I really, really, really, really hate to actually put this forward, but... you may need to try and get a payday loan.
