Re: 1292: Pi vs. Tau

I think when the formula's easier with pi, you should use pi. When it's easier with tau, you should use tau.

That's why I'm an engineer and not a mathematician.

Re: 1275: "int(pi)"

Back to "why is 3 cursed?" I think it's because 3 and E are close on the keyboard so it's easy to type e when you mean 3. But, when you try to find it, your brain sees E as 3 because that's what you MEANT. So avoiding 3 avoids that problem.
Or maybe it's just me.

Re: 0978: "Citogenesis"

I think we've wandered from the point. This is a great illustration of what your English teacher told you - look for primary sources. It is certainly not limited to Wikipedia, and I have whiled away many hours tracing down the original source of a statement that pops up repeatedly. My basic rule of ...

I let my pilot's license lapse so I don't really care that flying cars aren't in mass production, but I was promised a shorter work week! The big problem now was supposed to be what to do with all our leisure time. Since I'm still working at 9:45 pm, I feel cheated! Oh, yeah, and paperless office. H...

THIS!!!!! I'm so sick of all the people who go lay guilt trips on folks for being sick. When you're ill, and it hurts everywhere, sometimes a bad attitude is totally justified. I don't generally hold with violence, but anyone who says crap like that deserves to be slapped! OK, I'll calm down now....

Sucks to be a compulsive reader - I haven't managed to ignore it yet.

Although this is probably the best use of a time machine ever, the backwards convention is actually helpful. Learning everything we think we know is backwards is actually good preparation for what they like to call "real life."
Especially when you have to deal with a bureaucracy.
