It's not like we didn't try pointing that out, however j_s does seem to be pretty much ignoring that.

The funny thing is, apparently even in the US it's illegal in some states.

Re: The Darker Side of the News

How the hell did they get the saliva from the rabid dog without that being a massive infection control risk?

I mean, letting it anywhere near a person no matter how dilute is mad, but you do wonder how they got it in the first place.

Re: black history

I mean, having a time dedicated to highlight it is important? It doesn't mean you can't talk about it outside of then, and it's ridiculous that people would say that as though awareness/appreciation for any other thing that has a day or a month doesn't get done outside of then.

Re: Justifying the Death Penelty

So basically, what you are saying is that because prisoners may or may not have other rights, they shouldn't be allowed their right to life in case they manage to exercise their other rights.

That seems somewhat messed up.

As I mentioned, one of my issues with Discovery is that they just ignore the augment virus. It’s not set that long before TOS, but it’s sufficiently far out from ENT that it should have some mention of it, at least. Given the experimenting with WTF was going on with Ash (still confused about wh...

Also, they may have executed people after WW2, however I don't think the same would happen today, even with Hitler reincarnate. The death penalty isn't very common in most countries these days (even though it is legal in more than it is practised). The US is pretty much the only 'developed' country ...

My friend is trying to find a book she read as a teenager. About a girl who thinks her mother is a pir as te and bases her life on real female pirates when she goes to boarding school? She finds out her mother is actually an actress. Apparently there's a Shakespeare sonnet quoted in it.

When T'Challa first walks into Shuri's lab, you see at least 3 other women (nice touch) in the background, working on things. Most of the movie takes place in her private office/lab whathaveyou, but there are other people there.

Oh me yarm it's the classic 'the African's caught the slaves so therefore it's all their fault' which completely ignores how internal conflicts were created just to drive the capture of slaves.

I think we're hitting bingo soon.

Dude, chattel slavery on this scale was not that common. The forced movement and dehumanisation of over 1 million people in the name of slavery was not really that common. And again, roughly 20% of slaves going through the Middle Passage died. That's not counting those who died during capture and du...
