Hmm... I was at the package store a few days ago and didn't see it, have you found it on shelves anywhere? If you know where to get it anywhere in the ATL area, please let me know where. I've heard alot about Yeungling, so I wouldn't mind driving a bit to try it.

No one's brought it up, so I'll recommend Feynman's Rainbow to any fans. While not written by Feynman, it does contain some excellent Feynmanny goodness.

Re: What are you readioactive now(and other book related stuff)?

Deconstructionism isn't something to read in search of understanding. Fair warning, you will not be satisfied with what you find. But, that's kind of the point, I guess. Anyway, I just started Dune , I don't know how I've avoided reading it for so long, everyone I talk to about it loved it. Unfortun...

Re: How many?

I have no clue about my reading rate, and I don't think books/week is a good unit. Maybe pages/month corrected for density of material. I know alot of forum users are college students, and textbook reading should certainly be factored in. While not a student, I tend to have several books in progress...

Re: Republican War: Traditionalist v Reformers

You know it's pretty bad when a progressive tax cut (basically the same thing we had during Clinton) is labeled socialism. You know it's bad when a tax hike is labeled a tax cut. I think that's my snark quota, I'll leave at that so I don't kill the thread. I hope a more moderate party prevails, but...

I'm not exactly a reader of economics papers, but I'd be interested to see the papers that do claim this. Are you interested enough to do serious searching for them? I'm not. If anyone wishes to seriously champion the claim that socialist nations outperform less socialist ones they can find their o...

I'd like to see the Republicans start treating evagenicals the way Democrals do environmentalists, i.e. pay minor lip servise to their ideals without being seen anywhere near their ideologues, and go whichever way the wind blows on specific issues. Julian and Creation by Gore Vidal are both excellent, epic yet easy to read, completely out-of-character for Mr. Vidal. These are also historical novels with an amazing degree of accuracy and detail, which is a real plus to me. I'm looking for something like this at the moment, light enough to read...
