Re: Anti-Gay Concentration Camps

Are the children forced to listen to / remain in the custody of their parents by law until they're 18? My father left his single-mom at 16 for all the abuse he got in that household. He then sued her for unterhalt (German version of alimony, but not just for divorced spouses) This was in Germany, bu...

Re: Marine serves two tours in Iraq, killed by SWAT.

I'm wondering if the public reaction to this situation would have differed if the marine had taken out the entire or part of the SWAT team defending his family from what appeared to be some kind of armed robbery (in his eyes; no knock warrant and all). I don't live in the States, but can you be char...

Re: The Price of Taxing the Rich

Did you ever think that you keep coming back to progressive systems because, maybe, a flat tax rate isn't a good idea? I think your two bracket system would be better than a flat rate but I don't think it would be as good as a system with more brackets. I support a progressive tax system because a ...

Re: The Price of Taxing the Rich

There's still issues with a flat tax rate, particularly as you go to the not rich end. In that, while 10% of the rich income won't dip into living expenses, 10% of somebody on the other end is cutting into living expenses. That said, if you want to implement a flat tax and actually make it not fuck...

See if you can have a look at the MX line from Logitech. The Revolution isn't sold anymore iirc, but that had a automatic free scroll mode when you put enough force behind your scrolling. It also has the alt-tab wheel :D Still have it after 4 years or so.. definitely worth buying if you can get your...

Birmingham wants me to have the equivalent of 5 A's. I've taken both now (well, still taking chem, but nearly done w/ the material) and imho chem is a walk in the park compared to physics. You should dig a small tunnel close to your front door. Then you use a laptop and it's webcam and feed that to your cellphone via skype/somethingelse. You can't make energy, Perpetual motion can't happen. Perpetual motion could happen, as you only need to add energy to the system once and then not have the kinetic energy either be changed into a different form of energy or leave the system through friction etc. The thing is actually creating a de...

The problem with the 5850 is that the cheapest one available to me costs 300€. That's just too far over my budget, even with the 50-60€ I save by using the AMD setup. The thing with the overclocking is, I will be doing it in about a year in order to keep up with new standards. So it'd be helpful to ...
