Re: 1766: "Apple Spectrum"

I just realized I've never eaten a Honeycrisp apple by itself; I've only ever used them for cooking. Gotta correct that next chance I get. The best for eating by themselves are Empire and Granny Smith. They're crisp, juicy, have good texture, good size, and good skin. I remember liking Red Delicious...

Re: [RESOLVED] Switching from absolute to relative file refs

Well, it's been a few days without any updates on this, but I figured I should update it with some closure for the next person who comes along. Wouldn't want to be that guy. I fired up Notepad++ and set down to editing those desktop.ini files one at a time. Easy enough to do, but there were 26 of th...

Re: Switching from absolute to relative file references

And you can make them all relative by replacing the pattern /(IconResource|IconFile)=( common absolute path )(.*)/ in all desktop.ini files on your drive. (assuming you have a tool that can handle text replacement in many files, e.g. notepad++) I use Notepad++ a lot, but never knew it could do that...

Hate to be that guy that only ever shows up to ask for help, but I know no better place for these sorts of questions. Batch renaming files

I've never done anything with batch scripting before, but as my files grow more & more numerous, I'm finding cases where I need to rename a whole bunch of them at once, and I end up doing so manually. Often the names follow a pattern that should in theory be easy to do faster using a batch scrip...

Okay, let's make this a little easier: Once I have a Ruby script query the server and receive info from the table, how does that info go from the Ruby script to a webpage? That's the end goal: a webpage with a Javascript form that allows the end user to select one of the listings from the database, ...
