Re: Elitism

I think part of the problem is that people just don't understand the decisions the elite make and the ways that government works. The fear is that A. I don't understand what's being done in government B. I've heard that all politicians are corrupt and would be criminal if they didn't make the laws C...

And just to clarify -- again -- "in your experience" doesn't mean much. Especially when you're going to start spouting shit like that. Please move on to actual discussion, or just move on. I'm not interested in your opinions about how people who take minimum wage jobs are unreliable junki...

Re: What are the "questions" about Obama?

Just to clarify, by "living wage" I meant the amount an adult can afford to remain a full time employee and meet the obligations of being and independent adult. From my experience you cannot find reliable hardworking drugfree people to start work at less than $10ish an hour.

how is he a liar or grossly misinformed, and what facts can you provide to support your claim? First is personal experience. Re: What are the "questions" about Obama?

Obama has stated that most (90%) of small businesses businesses make less than $250k a year. This statement shows that Obama is either a liar or grossly misinformed. So no response to this? Wow... so many of those questions fall apart before they've even reached the question mark. Have a look at th...

Re: What are the "questions" about Obama?

The whole questionable contacts thing doesn't come from the fact that Obama has been close friends with Ayers (a confessed domestic terrorist) and Wright (Racist socialist). A person can associate with whoever they want. The problem is from Obama's reluctance to discuss these affiliations. I would l...

Re: Random: Love and Sex with Robots

People of both sexes are already "having sex" with artificial reproductions of the opposite sex's organs. I think it's safe to assume that those same people will continue the practice as technology to reproduce not just the sex organs but the whole body is developed. As for love, depends o...

I think Bourne wins, not because he's better than the new Bond (who has finall...

Re: War-is it ever justified?

For war to be justified we have to define what the word justified means. The according to Webster, justified is defined as; “to show something as just, right, or reasonable” or to have had a “sufficient legal reason” for doing a thing. For the last, it depends on how international law is interpreted...

Not to backtrack the discussion, but one of the main reasons for the EC wasn't mentioned. The EC was protection against Voter Fraud. In the early days of the US, there were of course no ID cards. A person could vote at multiple locations under different names. Some people considered it patriotic to...

Re: Electoral College

That's all well and good, but look at what you're really doing here, as far as the electoral college is concerned (of course we still need state governments). See, what really matters is people —not geography. Why should a Dakotan be more important than a Californian when it comes to voting for Pre...

Was shown something today that just shook me to the core on how out of touch some people are. Howard Stern sent a guy out to interview some people and asked about why they supported Obama. However the Howard Stern guy states McCain's issues as if they were Obama's, including asking if they are happy...

Re: Space Marine vs JRPG Teen: Battle of Video Game Archetypes

I think I'd have to go with the space marine. I don't recall any game outside of the original Wolf3D that all the marine had was guns. On one side we have the JRPG guy armed with spiky hair, a huge magic sword, and the ability to cry. On the other side we have the space marine armed with a knife, ch...

Re: The Bebop's crew versus the Serenity's

Depends on who goes to who's universe. In an anime universe, the laws of anime apply. Main character anti-heroes vs main character anti-heroes = causality explodes. They fight once, with a decisive winner about to be declared (bebop probably) and are interrupted by the bad guys. Craziness ensues, in...

Re: Malcom Reynolds vs Han solo

Hit this from a different angle. Mal and Han have no idealogical reason to fight eachother, so why are they fighting? I can only think of being them pitted against eachother by some sadist in gladiator fashion, or they are competing over a job or chance at profit. If it's gladiator type fight, anyth...
