D negative (below vacuum) pressure.

I'd say the typical sci-fi scenario is depicting as a tunnel/tube is needed for dust and radiation, with other concerns being secondary.

D is the default in sci-fi because explosive decompression is awesome.

I think it's because newspapers in BttF are magic. Like how they update when the timeline changes even though the time traveler doesn't.

Also, it's pretty reasonable to interpret "Dioxin plant" as any plant that produces dioxins. In the same vein that an "AIDS walk" isn't walking AIDS, isn't people with AIDS walking, isn't spreading AIDS by walking, and is in fact down right anti-AIDS.
