Re: 1199: "Silence"

Oh, John Cage, if only your art was born in the modern world of monochromatic wooden planks and piles of candy from which people are free to take as they please, you might have been more accepted for your brilliance. Brilliance in getting people's money in exchange for feeding them BS. Or, as I saw...

Re: 1199: "Silence"

I always wanted to go the a performance of 4'33 and start the applause a minute too early. Of course, that would be as much a part of the performance as anything. Very true. A lot of people think of this "piece" as if it were a studio work consisting of digital zeros. An important aspect ...

Re: 1190: "Time"

The last few frames definitely make me feel like this is going to continue for a long time, possibly through the summer.

I'm also getting a feeling like they are two people out in the wilderness or in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Not sure why.

I like it.

Re: 1196: "Subways"

Folks alleging plagiarism because they don't buy 100% coincidence are missing the fact that those two things are opposite extremes from each other. It's entirely possible that Randall heard or saw someone speculate about a continent-wide transit system (possibly as a result of seeing one of the oth...

Are you a resident of Baltimore, by any chance? Because here's a Subway subway map (where every existing Subway is a subway station for the Subway subway).

Re: 1196: "Subways"

Probably what Randall defines as subway is not what you imagine - I'm not familiar with the north american systems, however Europe's ICE would fit in the definition and it's a high-speed inter-city rail system - it just happens to go underground here and there and has stations in a city centres. Th...

Re: 1196: "Subways"

This is great. In the morning, I'm going to take the Path (not shown here) into the city (Manhattan) and then take the train to Mexico City. BTW, the Path is missing from this and does meet your qualifications for a subway. (I tried posting the link to the map, but got flagged and denied.) The PATH...

Re: 1190: "Time"

So, it looks like my entirely non-controversial prediction that this would outlast April Fool's Day has come true. With only 48 frames a day, I think Randall can keep this up as long as he wishes, especially if he has built up a big store of frames for a long time. He could've started working on thi...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Longtime reader, occasional lurker.

What a fantastic piece of work this is. At 48 frames per day, it's quite possible that this could continue for a very, very long time. If this goes on until the summer, I would not be surprised.
