The YouTube channel "Ridddle" has copied this pretty much paragraph for paragraph to the acquisition of over 7 million views. I don't know if it's authorised or a total rip off but I thought you should be aware. I initially tried to post this with a link to the video itself but a moderato...

kind of, and kind of exactly that

if you say for example that q= (1,i)*(1,j)= (1+i)*(1+j) = 1+i+j+ij

= 1+i+j+k

and there you go

Absolutely. The really cool kids are into octonions . I've been saying for a while, that if a fifth dimension is discovered, that there will be at least 8 total, if for no other reason that the math describes it (there's a squareroot in several physics equations, your going to need a division math ...

No. It's how many maths did people do. Jose How much maths did people do, surely? I'd like 0.460829493087557603686635944700 recurring apples please. Unpopular opinion: People need to do fewer maths ETA: Also, now you want recurring apples, too? What, you think apples grow on trees or something? :P

A Phobos-Mars descent is vastly easier. Mars-Phobos L1 is 2.5 kilometers "above" Stickney crater on Phobos, equivalent to a 50 centimeter high hill on Earth. If you use a 5 kW searchlight power radiator on your 500 kg vehicle, with a top speed of 100m/s, the descent takes 24 hours. Simila...

Silver at 1000k vs Lava at 1000k vs Titanium Dioxide at 1000k don’t look the same. The reason is that they’re not black bodies. The high index of refraction on the TiO2 means that a bunch of the light that wants to escape hits the TiO2/air interface and goes back in. Even clear stuff glows at these ...
