Re: 1146: "Honest"

I think this is largely a question of self-confidence and social skills (in the sense of being able to have an accurate theory of mind ). Social support is pretty important for happiness, which is surely one reason that not being able to grok normal social encounters can pull you into a negative fee...

Re: Lazy Strategy

What people don't tend to realize is that willpower is an expendable resource, and that making yourself feel deprived is not viable in the long-term. What you really need to do, which takes time, is to change your basic habits and learn to enjoy exercise and non-crappy food. But, you seem to have so...

Natural Selection 2

http://www.naturalselection2.com/ The sequel to one of the awesomest mods ever is finally here! For the uninitiated, it's basically aliens, marines, resources and base building, all in a beautiful FPS/RTS hybrid. More info on site. If that sounds interesting, I also highly recommend the original Ha...

Re: Which motherboard?

Being an owner of a P5Q, I have found its HDD controller - Marvell 88SE61XX - is not particularly awesome (quirky support and whatnot). This is not something you may actually notice if you are only going to run Windows; if you'd like to use the AHCI feature, however, remember to enable it in the BIO...

Re: Where to start

Whatever your decision may be, I wholeheartedly support going the Linux route. I admittedly feel like I have learned more about the actual mechanics of computers in the one-two months I've been using Ubuntu than for the rest of my life. Windoze never had me get down and dirty with it, so I never rea...

Re: Something on Youtube

College Saga This is clearly one of the most epic videos on YouTube. I'll post the description here just to (hopefully) get you interested: Once upon a time, when Earth was still a beautiful place, an evil force came to turn all living things into Vegetarians. Three students from suburban Massachus...

Re: "Faust 2.0" Discussion

Haha, love it. Must admit I didn't recognize the name Faust, though. As for EULAs: I don't actually read them either. TL;DR indeed.

Re: xkcd sightings in your hometown

Sadly, I have yet to come across anything that pertains to xkcd outside of the internets. That's all subject to change, though - we can't have it this way, so I'm going to stick comics up in random places at school in an effort to proselytize some fellow geeks. And I'll be getting a t-shirt, too. :)

There's a lot of things I should be doing, but most prominently, I should be working on my Swedish assignment due next week. Grah!

I'll join the club. I am indeed; I always have to hear every last little line they have to say. Which sucks when said lines are randomized.

Re: Giants: Citizen Kabuto

So, is anybody up for a couple of rounds in multiplayer? We are potentially 3 players already, counting Coin, me, and one of my friends. If we could arrange something, that would be excellent fun.

You know you want to .

Re: Deus Ex

I had my first play-through during summer. It was awesome ! Pity I've not picked this game up earlier, because it really is one of the best and most immersive games ever. I love the open-endedness; hell, almost every decision affects the story in some way. I also enjoyed reading all of those little ...

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hai guys! So I finally got around to signing up, and this seems a suitable place to introduce myself. So, here goes. Ahem... *drumroll* I'm a 16-year-old science student, living in Sweden, but I am in fact from the internet. I enjoy most of the usual geekery, such as mathematics, science, computers,...
