Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

I'd agree, but it was banterous, not offensive. The student and him have a back-and-forth. The same teacher was said to have been asked why he was so fat, to which he replied, 'because every time I shag your nan, she gives me a biscuit.'

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

Today, in the canteen, I heard a teacher say to a student of whose BMI is well... unsafe in the large region, shall we say. The teacher said to this student, 'Do you really need to be here?'

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

My history teacher once said, 'Mike, I'm starting to wake up at night screaming your name. My husband is getting very concerned.' due to his lack of working.

Re: Recommend one artist

I like artists who have poetic, meaningful lyrics, and good singers, such as Iron & Wine, Regina Spektor, etc. Can the fora find me some new obsessions?

Re: Lies My Teacher Told Me

My history teacher taught the class that Hitler was in jail for but a year for the Munich Revolution due to good behaviour, when it was actually a nazi-sympathist judge who'd previously tried Hitler and reduced a minimum 3 month sentence to a 1 month via appeal.

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

He doesn't like freshmen much, and makes no effort to hide it. He's not mean about it, though, and it's rather funny to everybody in the class. Of the ~24 people in my class, three are sophomores, three are juniors, and the rest are freshmen. He'll occassionally make comments about how great the si...

Re: High School bathroom graffiti: intellectualized

I'm not too bothered. The tables in my science classes are covered in scratches and writing anyway, and Parker ink comes out easily from smooth surfaces.

Re: High School bathroom graffiti: intellectualized

I've scribbled 'If you stare too long into the Abyss, the Abyss stares back.' - Nietschze on a table, with the quote in my sig. Also in science, mostly song lyrics et cetera, and on my wall lyrics, and quotes. Because I'm decorating as soon as I can.

Re: High School bathroom graffiti: intellectualized

I think my most recent scratchings have been song lyrics, the quote in my sig and changing 'if u read this ur gay/fanny' to 'if you read this you're AWESOME'.

Exercise Help

Right. I'm 14, about 5'7, 10st 5-ish and unhappy with my weight and size. Other than lopsided strength to my dominant hand/arm (right), my stomach has little definition and my legs need work. What would you suggest I start doing to reduce my body fat/convert my body fat to muscle, increase my streng...

Re: Recommend one artist

I like the original. But the cover brings more emphasis to the words... despite meandering somewhat. Not a bad quality really.

Re: Career ideas?

To do something that isn't journalism... and not solely writing poetry or novels. Not unless it kicks off and I get successful with it. But most probably, that'll be the spare time aspect. I'm kind of lost really. I've considered so many careers, I don't really know what to do. The main focus would ...

Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

My english teacher, reading someone's poem about a rubber dinghy or something to that effect.

'Being blown up is the best feeling in the world.'

Silence, and then, I started laughing, sending the class and teacher into hysterics.

Re: Recommend one artist

I would wholeheartedly recommend for any folk/acoustic fans, Iron & Wine.

They are love.

Try their cover of Such Great Heights, anything from the Woman King EP, Naked As We Came or the Passing Afternoon single.

Re: Song for your funeral?

I wanna be floated off in a boat and be burned Viking-style too.

Not sure what song to go to, but something to define me. Show my appreciation of life, while at the same time trying to tell everyone to not let my death hinder their appreciation too.

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

14/M- waitasecond. I'm Jack, if the name failed to give it away. I'm 14, live in a particularly cold, wet part of England, enjoy good music and movies, obscure quotes, age-old movements that still affect us (namely, the Beat Generation. But blame that on Little Brother) privacy, computers, shiny thi...

Re: High School bathroom graffiti: intellectualized

That just reminds me of that Robot Chicken skit... 'One before Zod, two before Zod' xD

I quite like that Oscar Wilde quote. It seems ever-present in the CyberNations forum. Might add that to the literature of my school toilet, but then again, I rarely go there.

Career ideas?

So, I have long juggled the ideas of so many various futures, careers, and educations, but yet again I find myself back to square one. xkcd seems appropriate to find help to restore it. I'm in year 9, england. I want to do something involving English. But solely writing books or such isn't quite my ...
