Yes. The sea is 0, like the border. I didn't start grabbing pixels unitl the fading, so I don't know if it was 0 before.

Re: 1190: "Time"

Okay just added a little scheduled script: Every 1 minute, or every 10 seconds within 3 minutes of a newpix: 1) download the current time.png 2) scan for any non-white pix 3) if non-white pix are found, I FTP the file up to here: http://xkcd-time.kieryn.com/magic.png The image does not exist yet, b...

Re: 1190: "Time"

This image is different (compared with, say, 10 newpix ago; haven't loaded any from overnight). After loading the pixel data into Matlab, instead of the was-black-now-gray values approaching 255, now the was-black pixels have value 3, and the background is 8. Displaying the image without scaling gi...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Still on track for around frame 962/963. Are you using chrome values? Because it is not at 50% yet. Nuh-uh. I'm downloading the original png from the hash, opening in Photoshop and making sure not to apply any color management (and its gamma set to 1.0 — linear). Seems other image editors are openi...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Added -- list of all posters to the One True Thread I am surprised at the number of posters with only 1 . Add: I get #222222 in Gimp after a "save image as". Just FYI. The record shall show that I was not among the 1-post rabble... 34 (in base 10, or 10 in base 34) also the value shown by...

Re: 1190: "Time"

I saved the source image, opened it in Matlab, and made a mask showing all the pixels with value 5. I wanted to post the resulting .png here, but I don't see how. Either it's because this is my first post and I don't have the permissions, or it's because I'm dense. But it was all of the black, excep...
