Same boat, my first post was in this thread, and so will my last.

Re: 1190: "Time"

This is hardly the end. There's no way GLR dosen't commermorate this in some way, posters, blag posts, infrequent references to the OTC. It was his Magnum Opus! Either way, Randall, shut up and take my money! I'll buy books, posters, mugs, lifesize cardboard moveable cutouts, the 2013 official beani...

Re: 1190: "Time"

I never thought it'd be over so suddenly! Anyway, I never posted much but I lurked a lot, and I must say it was a lot of fun here in the OTT, and while my friends thought I was nuts and obsessed, coming here on my lunch breaks, and in my down times was the highlight of the past several months for me...

Re: 1190: "Time"

It's probably part of a breakwater system. I don't know much about the area but I imagine there are some large ports and harbors on the south coast of France.

Re: 1190: "Time"

Hopefully it's a direct letter to symbol translation to English, as that'd make it at least possible to figure out without a rosetta stone. Guess we should keep an eye out for double symbols that may indicate vowels. Of course a direct letter to symbol translation would be sooo boring. My guess is t...

Finally, to bad it wasn't Cueball. I think she'll make an awesome recovery or turn it into an awesome slide down the dune.

This is not a fall, it's more like a leap with a very determined outcome. Which, I think, is the complete opposite of a fall.

Still, it's what I wanted.

Re: 1190: "Time"

Clearly Meagan, in her infinite foresight, is concerned about the stability of the dune, yet shows enough restraint to willingly allow her partner to succumb to his predestined rejoining of the ground, with his head, at the bottom of the dune. 1 1 For the lols. Huh... I was just thinking that this ...

Re: 1190: "Time"

ohh, my first quibble in the flow of time. Interesting....

I doubt Lord Randall intended for a duplication of this image. Just angers me as I'm eagerly awaiting Cueball to slip and slide down the dune (if that is in fact what it is).

I think it's quite clear they're in a desert now.

I'm also taking bets on how many newpix it is until Cueball slips and falls. 3 newpix is my guess.

I'd like to join in with the salt flat concept. Since no-one has mentioned the Bonneville Salt Flats west Of Salt Lake City, (Let's see if I can get a wiki pic posted): 800px-Bonneville_Salt_Flats.jpg Wiki pic was really big; did the attach file thingie Edit when driving from SLC to Nev., you go ov...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Does anyone else think that these last two images are artificially flat. Like their walking on a parking lot, a road, or something else. Flood plain (as others have mentioned) seems more logical, considering the emptiness of their universe. I'd like to agree but nothing has been this flat ever in t...

Animation updated with the 4th frame: http://xkcd.mscha.org/river.gif (If you only see 3 frames, refresh; the URL is unchanged.) Wonder if perhaps the camera will stay in this position for a while and follow them into the image, walking alongside the river, until it starts to narrow. I think that, or a camera turn (as azule predicted). Or it's the end. Consider me the Eternal Pessimist, Purveyor of Doom, Prophet of the End P...
