Re: Have you ever been Banned? (here or anywhere)

Just got banned from some forums last night (well, I only used them here at work, so it may have happened over the weekend when I wasn't checking), after an impressive six months of constant, mild needling. Funny thing is that I hadn't done anything intentionally trollish that entire week, and hadn'...

Re: Battlefield 2142

The Baur sounds right up your alley. It's basically the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR... Baur... get it?) for the 22nd century. It fires somewhat slow, and it has a fair bit of recoil, but it hits very hard (for an assault rifle) and is extremely accurate when sighted in and crouched; you can litera...

Re: Halo: The Future of Gaming? (Let's bitch about FPSs)

Bah, I was brought up on joypad gaming and I played Halo 2 on sensitivity 10 just fine. But honeslty, I only made that statement because of the preceeding statement. All it offered was the assumption that a mouse and keyboard are always better, which is simply not true for everyone. Left4Dead? Mous...

Re: Halo (PC) multiplayer

Point being, though, is that no one in the world is going to have decent accuracy firing from the hip, especially with a semi-automatic rifle. Go take a .30-06 into the woods and try to shoot a deer from 30 yards while firing at the hip. You're almost certainly going to miss, and even if you do hit,...

I've been having more fun listening to all the tears on the official WoW boards more than anything else, especially how people are treating these intial notes like they're gonna be all that's being released. The "10% faster Heroic Throw" bit is rapidly becoming a meme, and it's turning out...

Another lucky one here. I had to apply to about 80 jobs (and thankfully family has enough money to give me time to do that), but I have found a very nice one that pays well and that I like so far (and is a government job). I plan to be an awesome employee that nobody would dream of giving up. Well,...

People are driving less because it's hard to afford gas when you don't have a stable source of income, let alone gas at $3.50 a gallon. They lowered the prices so that more people can afford to drive and thus give them money :P

Well, the recession is most definitely real. But hey, it at least convinced them to drop gas prices, eh? Down from about $3.55 a gallon to about a steady $1.70-$1.75 where I'm at. Regular unleaded, of course. Makes a big difference when you drive 13 miles to and from work four days a week ;)

Oh, no doubt. If you have free rolls they whine about shitty luck; if you use any form of loot council, they cry about favoritism. But DKP tends to encourage this behavior more than most other forms of loot systems.

The only issue is that it starts people saving up those points for the big items instead of spending them on the items they actually need for proper raid progression. That Betrayer of Humanity sure is nice, but your DPS is going to be better with, say, an Armageddon and full ilvl 213 epics than a Bo...

Re: Battlefield 2142

Battlefield is a far cry from CS, DoD, and other Source games. Being good at those games will not help you much. Aim for the head. I can't stress this enough. Crouch, zoom, shoot - in that order, every time. The default ARs and the Voss can take six to ten shots to bring someone in heavy armor down,...

Re: Halo (PC) multiplayer

Except the problem is, if you have good enough aim, you can hip-shot-one-hit-kill everything in sight with the sniper rifle. That's my tactic. As long as you don't get within melee range, its all good. The sniper rifle isn't fast, but if you're good with it, it can still be considered to have an OP...

FaN sounds like an interesting weapon. Will it do more damage than the basic Scattergun? What about the spread? How strong is the knockback effect? Did the game really need another damn knockback effect?

Seems like it'd be hard to use a grill to properly cook bacon and ensure it gets cooked throughout. Plus it seems like it'd be less crispy... a lot of the crispiness comes from frying it in its own fat.
