I have no problem with stretching 4:3 content to 16:9, but I HATE HATE HATE that scaling that has lower scaling in the middle and extreme scaling on the sides. I'm using sabrienix/mumbledog. They're pretty good, and allow you some admin options (MotD, CVP, etc.). The config portal could be a little slicker though.
