Re: Favorite Time Signatures

I usually write music in 4/4 or 6/8, but I don't really pay attention to time signatures. Polyrhythms are cool.

Re: What's up with minimalism?

Minimalism has actually been around for a while. Nirvana, The Ramones, The Runaways, early Green Day, and The Troggs to name a few. The reason that minimalism is so popular is because it doesn’t take a lot to listen to it and like it. It’s catchy, and most of the time it’s just fun. I’d rather list...

I made this album that I'm really proud of even though my actual performance skills definitely need some work. They're mostly "pop" songs which I recorded over a week. The artist name is Jackson Family Estate Says "NO" and the album name is =_=. I'm not releasing any lyrics becau...

Re: Just recently signed up for bandcamp.com

Previews are annoying, but I did enjoy Happy Hardcore. Some of the tracks remind me of video game music a bit, which is not a bad thing. I'm not a good judge of electronic music since I generally listen to this type of music while I multi task or study or etc etc (meaning I generally don't find elec...

Uh, I'm in high school band and we've been re-learning this every year so I can help with transposition from X instrument to Y instrument. As for difficulty of keys, there's really no such thing. Once you know how to play an instrument well enough you should be able to play anything given enough pra...

If that Fucked Up compilation has all (or at least most) of their singles tracks then that will save me a lot of time looking for a lot of them.
Looking forward to LCD Soundsystem, whenever that release comes out.

The percussionists in our high school band are pretty terrible at keeping time and they always lose sheet music and stuff etc etc so we don't really put much faith in them.

I really like the first ending theme by Rie fu for Darker than Black. I can't remember the name of the song though. The other guitarist in my band and I play God Knows... from Suzumiya Haruhi a lot when we're bored. It's actually pretty simple when you have distortion on (you can hide your mistakes ...

The only reason I can think of is that Ticketsolutions is trying to rip you off. If possible, check if you can buy tickets from the venue itself because that will probably be the cheapest way to get tickets. If not then just get it from Ticketmaster because that's a pretty established company that k...

1. I write with my left hand but I play right handed. I suggest actually going in a store and playing left handed or right handed guitars and see what feels better. 2. I don't think it matters too much. Personally I've always used acoustic guitars even though I play mainly rock music, because I find...

I generally answer "random" to that question. Otherwise I just name random 70's rock bands that everyone's heard of even though I'd much rather listen to some more recent stuff nobody I know has heard of unless I tell them about them.

as far as your electric-acoustic, you can get an amp that is built specifically to handle that sort of thing or just get any old amp if you like the sound better otherwise. Heh, I have the Ibanez amp. I like to use the chorus and reverb effects to make it sound a bit more shoegaze-ish, but it doesn...
