It's my understanding that they didn't have a Sh (/ʃ/ ) sound, so yeah, they said Sibboleth.

I took it as: the person giving the lecture is trying to "teach" the audience how to write a blog by overanalysing the readership and using psychological tricks to draw them in, where all you really need in a successful blog is for it to be interesting, as the heckler points out.
