Re: Unpopular Musical Opinions

I don't mean that I listen to it because it's true, it just hits home for me, you know? I started listening to them just for the sounds, and it wasn't until I checked up on the lyrics and really listened that I appreciated it. I enjoyed it before, but I didn't appreciate it. If that makes any sense.

Re: Unpopular Musical Opinions

Not too many people seem to be defending the whole emo/emocore/screamo/hardcore/etc. genres [[which I hate with a passion, by the way. genres are far too broad and different by everyone's standards to be used effectively in my opinion]] When I say emo, I mean the old definition: the emotional aspect...

Re: Metal band suggestions

For melodic, I'd have to suggest Agathodaimon. The voice may not be what you're looking for, but the instruments are pretty loud, and I'm sure you could enjoy the instruments without paying too much attention to the vocals. As long as we're on the topic of different metals, I'd say As Blood Runs Bla...

Windows Seven and Emulators

Herro all. Just switched to Windows Seven recently [[love it, by the way]] and I know "regular" games won't work because of the not-yet-released OS but I figured the emulators are fairly independent, and couldn't see a reason for any failure. Alas, I cannot get them to work [[psX 1.13, ePS...

Re: The Lucid Dreaming Thread!

I absolutely LOVE lucid dreams. Not to sound braggy or anything, but I do it every single night. I can always tell when I'm dreaming, and I don't have to try or anything. As soon as it starts I just snap into it; I know I'm asleep, I know it's a dream, I can do absolutely anything I please, it's an ...

Re: Screamo

Ahh.
I wish I could see Drop Dead, Gorgeous and The Devil Wears Prada live.
I would kill to see them.
Unfortunately, they aren't touring right now (as far as I know).
Anyone know of anything that's like either of them?
Also, Attack Attack! is a good band from around here (Columbus, Ohio)

Re: Screamo

I've heard of most of those, don't know their songs though.
I like (the most):
Drop Dead, Gorgeous
Greeley Estates
As I Lay Dying
On Broken Wings
The Devil Wears Prada
Killswitch Engage (Not really screamo per say, but they do scream a bit)
Bullet For My Valentine

Re: 5 Songs/5 Emotions

1. Still Fly (Cover) by The Devil Wears Prada - I can listen to this song at any time and enjoy it no matter how I feel. 2. Dressed For Friend Requests by Drop Dead Gorgeous - Sad/Suicidal/Depressed all at once. 3. Forever by As I Lay Dying - Heartbroken. Simple. 4. Loss Of Me from the Final Fantasy...

Re: Screamo

Sorry,
post-hardcore?
That's what the genre is for them on my iTunes.
Hardcore is good too, but that one has two different types as well.
Hardcore like The Devil Wears Prada,
And hardcore like techno or trance.
It's all very confusing, we should have a system that gives explicit definitions.

Greeley Estates <3
Check out Drop Dead, Gorgeous if you're into kinda hardcore.
Heavier metal, maybe As I Lay Dying?

Screamo

I haven't seen any post for this genre yet,
but I am absolutely in love with screamo.
Standard genre thread: bands, songs, etc. you like.
