They're getting faster at protecting the pages. Unfortunately, we win by numbers. Please stop making test edits to Wikipedia. It just keeps the last one it found. Has been done hours ago. On the Internet, nothing is new.

That's probably because 10 people are vandalizing at the same time.

Re: 1193: Externalities

There was already a warning on top of the talk page So XKCD has decided to create a dynamic comic that looks for the first NASDAQ-100 company listed in this page (http://xkcd.com/1193/). As such there may be a flood of edits throughout the day with people experimenting (I know I was tempted to...). ...

Originally the NASDAQ company was taken from the wikipedia page on Technology, but that page had been protected fairly quickly. I reckon the page will keep changing. Busy day for the wikipedia mods! Let them earn those donations!

Re: 1193: Externalities

Well, since most people are getting bored of t-i-m-e (except for those popes and cardinals I suppose), I guess Randall is using this one to continue keeping us from doing any more useful stuff. I've seen the bigger poochie too, the comic glitched a while ago, it probably got too big too soon. Who's ...

I tend to challenge food when it passed its expiration date. Last night I ate some feta cheese that didn't have the texture any more it should have. I still feel okay. This week I finally threw out the fish sauce that passed its exp. date for over a year. It got stronger by the month, not bad.

The problem, of course, is I don't know how to make a computer run a program when I die. I'm the kind of paranoid nutjob who worries about someone (be it burglars or police) snooping around/raiding my home (not to mention my /home - zing!), so leaving a note "to be read upon my death" det...

Re: "Crossbows" Discussion

The Higgs is a prediction that is required by the electroweak theory, the theory that is the unified description of the electromagneic force and the weak force. (The weak force is the one responsible for nuclear beta-decay.) No no no. It doesn't have anything to do with the electroweak force either...

Re: "Crossbows" Discussion

Physicists are still unsure as to what gravity and similar forces really are. One popular prediction of the origin of such a force in an atom--the strong force, if I'm not mistaken--is known as the Higgs boson. Like an electron or proton, the Higgs boson is part of an atom. Though there is experime...
