I suggest Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog to everyone,. You can likely legally watch it free online, as it was written by Joss Whedon during the writer's strike and published for free online, but I'm not sure where besides youtube. Stars Neil Patrick Harris. It's only about 40 minutes long, and is ve...

I love them. It's my favorite "genre" for movies. What are your favorites, cult classics, and ones you think are "essential" to someone watch in the genre?

Re: Are you looked down on for not having a job in college?

A job now to get hired later is something I haven't thought of. I checked out some positions related to my major (I actually want to go to some type of medical-related professional school, though not sure yet which one, but am doing physics/math now). Right now I have the ability to help with researc...

Are you looked down on for not having a job in college?

I'm 19, and get my tuition/fees/books payed for by the school. I live with my parents, and they give me so much money for gas/food/etc. that I don't need to actually get a job to pay for things, but still need to plan and keep a budget. When people ask me where I work, I always feel looked down on f...

Re: A criminal hides in a room with 99 innocent people...

I heard someone say it will come out as: 94 innocent 6 guilty, or 4 guilty 96 innocent, but I don't understand how it won't be 95 innocent and 5 appearing guilty.

A criminal hides in a room with 99 innocent people...

A criminal hides in a room with 99 innocent people. You have a lie detector that correctly classifies 95% of people. You pick someone at random, wire them up to the machine, and ask them if they are the criminal. They say 'no', but the machine goes ‘ping’ and says the person is lying. What is the ch...

Re: Which of these values are exact (have no uncertainty)?

My professor did have an argument with one student who said liters to gallons is an exact value, but I'm guessing that I know liters to gallons can be exact now it'll save me points in future classes. I believe the point the teacher was trying to make was that you have to measure the number of liter...

Sitting in on classes in college...

I do this pretty often, when I miss a class and need the lecture, to find out how I like a teacher before taking them if I've heard rumors, use it to double my review sessions, get a new view, or if the class is just interesting that day. I normally only do for classes where there are plenty of extr...

Physics Major Difficulty

I've been working on a physics major. I was hanging out with my zoology major friends the other day, and I jokingly teased one of my friends about being in a soft science. My zoology major friends took great offense, stating that zoology "just as high and an even more pure science than physics,...

The Theoretical Association of Statistical Turkey Experiments (TASTE) has determined that the time to cook a chilled, unstuffed turkey is given by the following relationship: t = .66 W^(2/n) where n is the number of dimensions of the turkey, W is measured in pounds, and t is measured in hours. 1. I'm thinking I'll get 4's or 3's on the English ones, and a 5 on psychology. If anyone has any tips for the two English ones, I could really use them.

Re: Class rank?

I'm in the top 6-7% out of 630-640 kids. AP classes, Honors classes, or the programs where kids can earn college credit in high school (I take 12-15 credits a year, and one year an AP class along with that, and every year honors with it) aren't weighed, so I have a 3.97. All these kids are taking ea...

Well, I got a 28 last time, and am taking it again this Saturday.

What are the best ways to study for it? I've just been taking retired practice tests under the time limit.

Does anyone have any tips for the ACT?

Any ways to study or anything? I've taken it twice. The first time I got a 24, and the second time a 27, and am taking it again tomorrow. If I can get a 30-31 on it, I can get a full ride scholarship to a few colleges around here.
