Re: Massive folder in root of C?

It's a folder left behind by Windows Updates. It's safe to remove. He's right, you don't have to leave it. Odd that it's so large, but that's not an uninstall folder, just a temp folder. yep, you can delete it. the .NET folder is located somewhere else, i believe, and should be a couple of hundred ...

Re: Want a new tower. What mainboard?

Yea, go for the M4A785T-M. Why go for the Phenom II 965, though? Protip: buy a phenom II 720 X3, which saves you $80, then turn on ACC on the motherboard. that should enable the 4th core, and spend around 50 bucks for an air cooled sink, and oc it. You will get better performance at a better price. ...

Re: Quadro FX vs. GTX vs. Radeon

but once you get to the high-end Quadro cards, you simply can't get equivalent performance from a GeForce at any price. from the nvidia specs page, it looks like the top quadro FX card is based on the 285, not the 480, thanks to yield issues. It should be more precise (the specs are really vague), ...

Re: Silverlight Client For Facebook data stream

hmmm. youre right, it is still running http. i knew that dns calls are intercepted and blocked, so the calls are made with a preset IP. now time to figure out how to use that to my advantage... a quick test on a unblocked computer indicates that directly connecting to facebook and logging in via IP ...

FWIW, according to Google shopping it would appear that you can get those headphones for ~$85US shipped pretty regularly, so I'm not sure how hot that deal really is. you forgot the canadian to USd conversion. I hav no idea what it is right now, but it should make 85 USd into somewhere in the 110 c...

Re: Professional Audio help

Ok, sure. I get the fact that electrical components cant blow up (i normally work with PCs, so the closest i got was when a disc decided to shatter in a cdrom). What I mean is, say, plugging a guitar (the pickup) into an mixer, which appearantly causes big problems. Also, to someone familiar with th...

I just immersed myself into the world of professional audio (read: recording studio style), and its confusing the hell out of me. I'm going to write a script that games this script. Anybody know how much osmium or iridium cost? You see, the USPS has a flat-rate shipping box that's 5-3/8" x 8-5/8" x 3-5/8" (about the size of a large paperback book). The postage is only $4.95 for any destination in the US. You ca...

thx, ppl. I like that song, although I do quite like most of AAR's stuff as well. Make You Smile by Plus-44 is another that springs to mind. IMO the male-female duet is a great thing that sadly isn't done often enough these days (or done well often enough, anyway). NINJA'D: Yes, Spiderbait is anothe...
