Re: A simple cipher

this is my analysis so far: It seems like a simple substitution cypher with all twenty-six letters used and each letter (represented by a two or three digit number) is separated by two zeros. I think that most of the zeros (other than those in 104, and 01, 02, 03) are probably irrele...

knight's tour revamped

I was so bored just now that I took down my family's communal calendar and played the knight's tour on July. 7-2-17-30-21-6-19-4-13-26-11-20-25-12-27-18-5-14-1-10-15-28-23-8-3-16-31-22-9-24-29, apologies if I miscopied anything from my notebook I happened to notice, as I was writing out the final so...

Re: How to confirm if someone is your "future you"?

If we assume that the future bad guys know who I am and can read future-me's mind, then it is impossible for me to be certain of whether or not the person I meet is me from the future or a Terminator from the future, since hypothetically the bad guys could create an evil clone of me with all of my ...

someone mentioned telling three stories, one is a joke, ask each opponent to tell you which is the joke. How about this: ask the two other players to tell you a story or a joke. If that doesn't work, ask them to explain why the joke is funny.

Remember we are dealing with a perfect AI. For the sake of argument, let us assume that this AI emulates every neuron in the human brain and nervous system. The AI and human both have the goal of proving that they are human. The AI, then, could really be a human who believes he is an AI. So the que...

If you go back a third time, you end up where you started and you would have to go forward again ...

bored in class one time, came up with this

x=y, y!=1
x/y-1=x-y
x-y=xy-y^2
x-y=y(x-y)
(x-y)/(x-y)=y
y=1
1!=1

creating a logic puzzle

here is the concept for my unfinished puzzle: you flip two coins, but don't look at either of them. Three other people look at both coins: One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one tells the truth approximately half of the time (lying the rest of the time). Possible problems that I have b...
