Re: 2037: "Supreme Court Bracket"

Could be some very interesting second round matchups here. Looking forward to Loving vs Miranda, where the case hinges on whether you must be informed of your rights to interracial marriage or not before being arrested.

Re: 1937: "IATA Airport Abbreviations"

What is the abbreviation for Hogsmeade? The real station that stands in for Hogsmeade is Goathland, but this does not have a station code as it's not a mainline station and hasn't been since the 1960's - it's currently part of the North Yorkshire Moors Heritage Railway that runs steam trains as a t...

Re: 1819: "Sweet 16"

Hm, that's certainly possible; "NBA 2k17 Top Players" could refer to players of the game rather than players in the game. Somewhat ambiguous, then. The former probably was the intended interpretation, given the rest of the teams. Given that assumption, I would put that game at probably 56...

Re: 1759: "British Map"

What has always struck me as odd: until a few years ago a typical rail journey from Budapest to Vienna started at Budapest Eastern station, from where you'd travel westwards; then after approaching Vienna from the East you'd arrive there at the Western station! (Which was, and is, indeed to the wes...

Braintree is also a real place, but a considerable distance south of where it is located on the map. I find that I am located somewhere in the blank spot between Oxford and Cumberbatch.

Re: 1653: "United States Map"

Looks like I've got it figured differently to quite a lot of people on here - I assumed the geographical features of the US would remain the same, it was just a case of the borders being changed. For example, the Mississippi River would probably start in Missouri now and flow through Wisconsin, East...

So I see "Skin Crawling", "Sore Throat", "Aching", "Cough" and "Hoarseness" under the X-axis, but where's "Constant Mucus Expulsion Requiring Thousands of Tissues"?

Re: 1576: "I Could Care Less"

When I was a young teenager (13/14), the phrase "I couldn't care less" was one I more than occasionally used (because I was teenager). Then I heard people say "I could care less" and I was really confused by it. But I was (am) quite literal minded. I just don't use the phrase at...

Thanks for the welcome. Still having trouble beating the spam blocker, so my questions might have to wait for a while until I work out what I'm doing wrong!

Re: 1190: "Time"

What is it about this Time thread that causes so many lurkers to unlurk? Well chalk me up as another one! I was following the thread from its early days (maybe not the first page, but certainly not long after) and probably read about 90% of it before T** E**. Then it kind of dropped off my radar for...
