Re: 2076: "Horror Movies 2"

Offhand, I can't think of a single genre I'd dismiss in its entirety. Romance generally makes me groan or at least roll my eyes but there's a handful of stories I still find enjoyable. Lately I've found myself watching sports movies, despite having no interest whatsoever in any sports, and I find so...

Re: 2050: "6/6 Time"

Someone, somewhere, is already using that system and exporting seconds of variable length for use in the movie industry.

Re: 1931: "Virtual Assistant"

Another user who used to fiddle around with Windows sounds here. I vaguely remember the shut down sound I used to use being the power on sound of one of the Terran buildings in StarCraft. The other/work PC used peon soundbites taken from WarCraft. I've actually turned off most sounds for my current ...

"Did you know that Daylight Savings Time might happen twice this year because of eccentricity of the sun? Apparently it's getting worse and no one knows why." (While it may seem like trivia, it is now recognized as a major cause of World War I) I'll spend the rest of my day trying to fit t...

Re: 1743: "Coffee"

I am not a coffee person, I can't stand the stuff. Incidentally the same holds true for alcohol and sports so society often leads me to entertain the thought I might actually be some kind of alien lifeform or a freak mutation. My limited exposure to the art of serving coffe has me believing the proc...

Re: 1697: "Intervocalic Fortition"

Isn't that just having a German accent? I don't think so but admittedly my sample size is rather lmited. I speak English with a German accent and while I may do a lot of terrible things to the English language (though at this point I figure it's pretty used to being butchered in various ways) prono...

Re: 1602: Linguistics Club

The big problem seems similar to the case of less/fewer or literally/figuratively, where it's such a common mistake to use annual to mean ennial, that annual has started taking over the definition of ennial, leading it to hold two contradicting definitions. So then biennial = semiannual? Actually, ...

Re: 1602: Linguistics Club

If figuring out when a club meets is giving me a headache I probably don't want to join.
Which reminds me, I've been meaning to join procrastination club for a while now but always end up putting it off. They always meet tomorrow.

Re: 1586: "Keyboard Problems"

For some reason, that's likely completely unrelated to having to remove them like twice a year from my father's keyboard, my first thought was "must be breadcrumbs" before even considering a more technical cause for the problem. I guess that's just me though.

I'd like to propose politician -> amnesiac
As soon as elections pokébattles are over they seem to forget everything they promised and if something goes awry nobody involved remembers whose fault it was

Nice story. Reasonable people behaving reasonably. That will never make drive time Radio. Where is the tragedy? Where is the indignation? For that matter; Where is the romance? Did you read the sermons and become enlightened? Did you fall in love with the subject matter? Did you meet the author? Di...
