Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

I have always used my last name as the account name. So at one point in time I searched for a password that hashed to my first name. Since then I've been using passwords that can be considered "randomly" chosen from 8 lowercase letters". At over 37 bits of entropy these perform bette...

Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

My method: Pick a Hebrew word, and type the corresponding keys, so the English password appears random. For complying with non-alphanumeric requirements, choose words with ת, ץ, or ף, which are on the ',', '.' and ';' keys respectively. Con: Need to speak Hebrew, which I do! Con: Now everyone with ...

Re: 0936: "Password Strength"

Hell if you make random passwords that are 8 characters long and take the time to memorize them, you're way ahead of the game. Truly random (or close enough) upper and lower case passwords with numbers, and your choice of any 5 symbols (your choice!), gives you a password with a strength of 67^8 wh...

Yet another My Hobby: Apply to jobs I really don't like the sounds of, and then intentionally try to get fired by doing weird stuff. (Disclaimer: Of course never bothering to put it in my resume, and I'm always doing something 'self-employed'-ish to fill up that time that I view as my real job... an...

Re: My Hobby:

My hobby: playing "air conductor" while listening to the new Doctor Who theme music. ... which is the same as the old doctor who theme music.... so why the 'new' prefix? Somehow the very latest rendition just has that much more "oomph". (Interesting, I never noticed that double-...

My Hobby: Treating sarcasm, rhetorical things, and cultural references as things as normal conversation... and responding to them in detail. (E.g. Him, "Dude, *ahem* Why so seeerious?" Me, "Because I'm currently trying to figure out how relativity and time dilation interact." My ...

Re: The least racist country?

It doesn't count as a country, as it is a continent. But I would have to say, Antarctica. 1: Employment: All people in Antarctica are employed or too young to be employed and have well-paid guardians. 2: Education: More than half have PhDs. 3: The Law: To my knowledge, noone has ever been put in jai...
