Re: 1665: "City Talk Pages"

Actually, my current city's talk page is also (unsurprisingly) hysterical. Curated, but my editing of the quotes is minimal. 1 Censorship on wiki. No murder mention for [City] 2 "Retroceded" 3 Constitutional problem ⋅ According to the data sheet on the article page, the area of [...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

I went 35 years thinking I was a straight guy with a few not-uncommon fetishes, so I know what you mean. It's normal to doubt and question - especially at this point. The discouraging thing for me is that it sounds like the doubts don't always go away - that some transfolk still experience those do...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

@ClockworkSky---Ah, cool! Congratulations! Sorry for assuming. :) @Pfhorrest---Yay! Also, your encounter reminded me of someone I saw recently who had a completely shaved head with a tiny scarlet mohawk, a neon sweater, a purse, pinstripe women's slacks and black heels with rhinestones. I actually l...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

Sounds like a great weekend! I've never heard of giving pocky after meals, much less only the women... huh. I don't know where you're located (Canada?) or what your longterm goals are, but in the US at least, the RLT is no longer required by decent therapists. (Check out the latest version of WPATH ...

Congratulations, Pfhorrest! & here's to many more good experiences!

(I'm moving in the other direction, which has fewer horror stories, but I still remember how unreasonably terrified and excited I was the first time I wore a binder out of my apartment. It does get less scary with time.)

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

Finally got rid of my uterus. It never felt like a part of me and caused me lots of pain and ruined a lot of my life. And it's gone now (DaVinci hysterectomy). Yayyyyy! And I live in the south it took a half dozen gynos until I found one to listen. If anyone here is thinking about getting rid of th...

Sockpuppet! Tricksy hormone/bodymod question in spoiler. Content warning: complaining about stuff I don't want from androgens, and discussion of genitals. Background: 27yo, afab, agender-identifying, /maybe/ leaning towards trans male but that is still really hard to think about, so let's leave...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

I understand why some people feel strongly about dysphoria not mattering, but I don't entirely agree. (spoiler in case this is too debate-y for the space---I'm not sure) You don't have to be enthusiastic or emphatic about the way you were assigned at birth to benefit from cis privilege. Hell, I ...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

I guess my first question is - any suggestions of stuff I could try? I realise that gender signifiers are unfortunately pretty well engrained in most people's judgement of aesthetics, so I'm looking for things that will look somewhat harmonious on a 6ft bearded guy with features that tend towards &...

Apparently I've never posted on this thread, though I've lurked on it for more than a year. Therefore I'm late to the party, afab, and the only labels I identify with right now are gender-questioning, butch, and bi/queer. ...And I'm a year and four days post top surgery!! (It'd be a happie...

Once upon a time in high school, but very rusty: C TI calculator BASIC Nowadays: R (I do Project Euler in R, which is probably an abuse.) PHP and HTML, CSS, and LaTeX of course. Re: Why is there no male equivalent of "the pill"?

Actually it is totally doable with a painful weekly shot. A dosage of about twice the normal amount of testosterone shuts down sperm production without other adverse effects (IIRC) however, testosterone can't be taken orally, it is destroyed by the digestive tract so it has to be a shot. Furthermor...

Thanks, I am proud of that coinage! I hope someone at ING looks at account names and has had a good laugh/boggle about it. Also, boobpocalypse itself is going to be SO AWESOME. Once I get past the planning and the no-showering and the can't-move-my-elbows phases, anyway.

I'm also a 32G or something like that---so it can't be that unusual! But if that's apparently a "normal" size (?), the way bra stores stock you'd think otherwise. Even my super-expensive Title Nine bras that work about as well as anything could are distinctly too small in the cup. :/ I don...

A math professor at my college (who retired slightly before I got there) had four kids. I can only remember two of their names, which is a tragedy: One of the two boys was Pyrex Nebulon $Lastname. The girls had similarly odd names. The youngest and most normally named was Oliver Oxygen $Lastname, wh...

Thin ties are where it's at. Bow ties to me suggest that you are either eternally single, or that your wife dresses you. The latter isn't really a bad thing, just sort of fits the bill for older dapper gentlemen. I'm 28, not getting to retire. Correction: Bow ties suggest you are eternally single, ...

Teaching myself Physics-- textbooks?

I simply cannot believe how prejudice your media is, USA. If Fox ever presents a fair and balanced newcast I will pledge my unfailing loyalty to our future robot overlords. Nobody watches Fox News, they're a joke. One of the sadder things I learned upon my visit to Israel in January is that actuall...
