Re: Portable boot device (does Microsoft hate me?)

Even if I wanted to bribe the admin, they sadly (but probably) couldn't install it if they wanted to. So, in answer to your question, yes.

Re: Portable boot device (does Microsoft hate me?)

I apologize for not having been more clear. The school has no protection on the computers other than giving each student their own account, I have spoken with the admin and when I asked if I could boot from another OS the response was "What, from like a live CD or something?" (I explained ...

Portable boot device (does Microsoft hate me?)

I recently installed Puppy Linux to my thumb drive (HP, 8GB, HDD) I can now boot from it on any computer if I plug it in and select it as a boot device, unless I try to boot it on one of the computers at my school which has a Windows XP/Vista sticker on it (80-90% of the schools computers). I have s...

Re: Happy New Year to all XKCD people

New Year Resolutions: Remember that the new decade starts in 2011 (because we started at year one) Remember to celebrate the new year when we actually finish our revolution around the sun (got to figure out when that is...anyone know if UTC is accurate based on our revolution around the sun???) Re: Happy Secular Non-Denominational Winter-Solstice-Theme Days

Re: Super-Villainy and holding the world hostage

Ok, I will first build an army of loyal followers worldwide then I will take control of the internet...I will then frame the governments of the world for destroying the internet in an attempt to censor our information. Then I will establish police states in multiple counties under the guise of gover...

Re: Revenge of the nerds

I don't think that violence could be spun as self defense, in this case it would be retaliation which is not legally protected from punishment. But in this case the balloons are assault, which would be extremely simple to prove. I feel the need to actually think of a suggestion at this current junct...

Re: Read xkcd comics 1-621 in past week

I read all of them 621-1 in 2 days...I think xkcd has affected my brain...when I enter empty rooms I say, "I know you're listening", and I carry nunchucks to defend against velociraptor attacks. Are these effects temporary or will I be stuck doing these things forever? No pun intended.

Re: Describe a game you think would be awesome

Considering most of the series consisted of trying to get peoples names, that would make sense, but how hard can you make it to get someones name, with the internet free to all it is absurd to build an entire game around getting peoples names because it would be too easy, I do think a Deathnote game...
