Re: 1357: "Free Speech"

otherwise this site is boring. people here know there can only be one one possible way of looking at things. the natural curse of youth, which will find its antidote in time, probably. Glad to know your expert assessment! you're welcome. bye! Hope we don't see you ever again! phhhttt!!! You lose. :...

Re: 1357: "Free Speech"

this has been a fundamental principle of british and american justice for centuries, related to the principle of "innocent until proven guilty". wikipedia has historical background tracing it back to the bible. look up "blackstone's formulation" there. It's been a fundamental id...

Re: 1357: "Free Speech"

the exact quote by sir william blackstone was "It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer". i should have googled it instead of trying to remember rumpole of the bailey! this has been a fundamental principle of british and american justice for centuries, rela...

Re: 1357: "Free Speech"

I don't think much of a coherent distinction can be drawn between things people "intend" to say and things that they just happen to say because it was bouncing around in their skulls. At least, not a distinction I consider relevant to judging someone's character. If he were self-aware abo...

Re: 1357: "Free Speech"

Did he say he was in his sixties, or that he had passed 60? It probably was the same guy; he mentioned being in the music business. He could have potentially been a cool addition to our community here, but unfortunately had a bad start that only got worse, and he essentially asked to be banned, so ...

Re: 1357: "Free Speech"

As for the former poster known as bonsaipark, I don't think he was a troll, but he might be an undiagnosed diabetic - that can make people grumpy &/or paranoid, and impair logical thought & discourse. was bonsai here? the record guy? if he got on your case, my guess is he didn't like the di...

Re: 1357: "Free Speech"

Dear little Poster; I could go on for internet pages. The things I have been through. In a Movie, people would believe it. A campfire story? Who would believe it? i think i see. yes, repression on that scale, when it tries to undo your very existence would be effective censorship. edit: maybe my wo...

although both the original johnny smith and chet atkins versions are very good, the ventures raised "walk, don't run" to a whole new plane.

not sure about "walk, don't run '64"

I know somebody who wants to record this song if they can identify it. He thinks it's a 60s soul song with the spoken line "are
you hip to the grease?" it could be a man and a woman singing it.

hard one!!!!

You sound like me. :D I'm still using a Sony NWZ-S545 for exercising and I like it a lot. The storage is 16GB of flash memory (good for running!!!) and you can load files by dragging them from a computer in Explorer. There's video playback and an FM tuner, but not too much else extras. The annual China Statistical Yearbook (China Statistics Press) might help if you can find an online source. Also maybe the World Bank publications? Good luck.
