Meta Mafia II XKCDians have once again been sampling the ju-ju-juice, and have forgotten who they are! I know, I know, we could just check our pockets, but where is the fun in that? Instead, as is tradition, we will lynch until everyone's true identity is known! Let the lynching begin! Meta-mafia: ...

I can use my size 9 shoes to get distances in feet just by counting; getting distances in meters means multiplying by 0.3 (which introduces an error, but if I cared about precise measurement, I wouldn't be using my shoes to measure it). One meter is approximately one stride length, either a long st...

But yeah, I agree that if the process truly takes nine hours, it needs to be changed. They were released once Starbucks said that they did not want to press charges. If it takes Starbucks 9 hours to make that decision, then these mens' extended stay in jail is Starbuck's fault. Screw that. Trespass...

Due process is super important when it comes to policing, and you don't want your average bicycle cop making the decision not to follow that process. But yeah, I agree that if the process truly takes nine hours, it needs to be changed.

You might want to look into teaching at a local community college as well. I know at least some have much lower requirements for certain occupational subjects like engineering and will accept teachers with just a bachelors degree and a few years work experience in the field being taught. It might b...
